Hill Top Hunting Lodge

Reece & Jane Jensen

We have a ranch style hunting lodge with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths; one of them is a private bath. There is a recreation room with a pool table and darts. In the Living room area you can watch T.V. and talk about the days hunts, or just relax and enjoy the fireplace and remember for your meals it is just good oh country “cookin.”

Our hunting area is 3500 acres and 1200 acres of this is CRP with 175 acres planted into food plots ( Corn, Milo, Cane, High oiled Sunflowers, Alfalfa and Wheat )  we do mow strips through out the CRP and food plots to make the walking easier. We have a lot of canyons with trees and thickets through out the rest of place. Here you will find some of the finest Nebraska pheasant hunting and quail hunting around. Our turkey hunting here in Nebraska is second to none and the Nebraska whitetail deer hunting and mule deer hunting is like no other. With such an abundant food sources, we promise only quality pheasant, quail, turkey and deer hunting experiences.

All of our hunts will include guide dogs if needed, lodging and 3hearty meals a day.

On your upland hunt you won't find many places any better, the guides and dogs are some of the best you will find in Nebraska. There is plenty of birds and shooting that goes on at the Hilltop Hunting Lodge. Start out the day with a great breakfast; all you can eat. While eating breakfast just watch out the windows of the lodge and enjoy watching the birds flying from roost to the food source. We normally start our hunts around 8:00 -8:30 a.m. There nothing like seeing the dogs on point and the hunt is on, the shooting starts and the retrieve are being made.

On a Deer Hunt you will start with a breakfast early in the morning. The guides are ready to take you to the field around 5:30 a.m. You will be sitting in a blind waiting to see the sunrise then you see something and your heart gets to pumping the guide will say oh lets him go there is some bigger then him. Late in the morning the guide will take you to hills there you will be scoping things out then the stalking will start.

If things don't work out In the evening or 3:30 p.m. you will head back to the blinds to wait for feeding on wheat, corn, milo, alfalfa normally you will see a lot of movements at this time of day.

Our Turkey hunts will start out with a early breakfast then the hunting guides will be ready to take you to the area you've been waiting to see. Turkeys will be coming out of roost all over and you will hear what will sound like 100's of turkeys. The hunting guide then will start his attack with the calls trying to pull the “big boy” over to where you are at. We won't hunt at the roost and we try to stay far enough away so they keep coming back. Normally you will have chances at different Tom's at the same time and it's your choice which one you want.
